Now that their Championship fate is sealed, West Brom are now on the hunt for a permanent manager that can help them reach their goal of Premier League prosperity. In many ways, an end to the uncertainty might actually be quite nice and the fans can look forward to next season with clear objectives and hopefully a new regime.

We're just trying to make you feel better, alright...

So, recruitment, whether that be manager or players, is never easy and West Brom simply cannot afford to make a costly mistake this time around. For a team who were so used to life in the top flight, the monetary difference could be damaging and the Baggies have to do everything to get promoted this season.

That’s why, right now, they’re in a real conundrum. Craig Dawson (as per the Sun) is wanted by Burnley for a fee of £15 million, which is a very good offer. Though the money will certainly be tempting, West Brom cannot afford to lose arguably their best defender and then have to try and replace him.

Dawson, (who is valued at £7.2 million on Transfermarkt) has been the Baggies' stalwart for some time now and without his impact, they could struggle even more defensively. Even though he is 29, the experience and know-how that he possesses is second to none and decision-makers at the Hawthorns must fight away any attempts from other clubs.

Despite the cost-cutting that will surely take place over the summer at the Hawthorns and how that £15 million could be extremely helpful, they also need a competitive team that allows them to continue challenging for promotion and getting fans in the stadium.

Craig Dawson has been at the club since 2013 and has done a terrific job ever since. Losing him would be a huge mistake as he is crucially important to their back-line.

Do you agree that West Brom should do everything to try and keep Craig Dawson? Or, do you fancy cashing in? Let us know!
