# Tottenham Hotspur: David Ornstein drops Fabio Paratici update

**The Athletic’s David Ornstein has shared a huge update on the future of Tottenham Hotspur transfer chief Fabio Paratici, following multiple approaches from Paris Saint-Germain.**

### The Lowdown: Paratici linked with PSG role

The Ligue 1 giants are reportedly eyeing potential successors for their sporting director role, as current chief Leonardo is [said to have become disillusioned](https://www.footmercato.net/a21803850526198007-psg-rien-ne-va-plus-pour-leonardo) with his situation at the Parc des Princes.

As a result, Spurs’ Paratici has been named as one of the candidates identified by Mauricio Pochettino’s side as a [potential replacement](https://www.footmercato.net/a21803850526198007-psg-rien-ne-va-plus-pour-leonardo).

The Tottenham chief was only appointed as the north London club’s managing director last summer, taking the responsibility off Daniel Levy, who has stepped back from his all-encompassing football role.

### The Latest: Ornstein’s update on Paratici

According to reports deriving from France \[via [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/3179002/2022/03/14/ornstein-chelsea-agents-paid-before-abramovich-sanctions-pl-eyes-nft-partner-xavi-tempts-torre-norton-cuffy-offer/)\], PSG are likely to part ways with Leonardo and are keen on hiring Paratici as his successor. It is believed that the French giants have [approached the Italian on multiple occasions](https://theathletic.com/3179002/2022/03/14/ornstein-chelsea-agents-paid-before-abramovich-sanctions-pl-eyes-nft-partner-xavi-tempts-torre-norton-cuffy-offer/), the latest of which came last summer, just before he joined the Lilywhites.

However, according to fresh reports from Ornstein and [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/3179002/2022/03/14/ornstein-chelsea-agents-paid-before-abramovich-sanctions-pl-eyes-nft-partner-xavi-tempts-torre-norton-cuffy-offer/), there has not been any fresh contact between the two parties. Paratici remains enthusiastic and committed to Tottenham, where he has a close working relationship with Antonio Conte and Levy.

### The Verdict: Good news for Spurs

The Italian’s relationship with Conte could prove to be one of the deciding factors which keeps the Spurs manager at the club, especially since it was [Paratici who wanted the former Inter Milan coach](https://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/antonio-conte-can-bring-success-to-tottenham-says-fabio-paratici-41013820.html) in N17 in the first place.

The Tottenham chief signed a contract for a [minimum of 18 months](https://theathletic.com/3179002/2022/03/14/ornstein-chelsea-agents-paid-before-abramovich-sanctions-pl-eyes-nft-partner-xavi-tempts-torre-norton-cuffy-offer/), and even after that, his partnership with the club will be evaluated.

Therefore, being less than a year into his stay at Spurs, Ornstein’s news will come as a big sigh of relief to Lilywhites fans, who may now be able to rest easy about Paratici’s future.
