# Tottenham: Spurs gathering further information on Pedro Porro

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/) appear to be gathering further information on Sporting Lisbon right-back Pedro Porro ahead of a potential move.**

### The Lowdown: Spurs preparing Porro bid

Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy appear to be making plans to bolster [Antonio Conte](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/antonio-conte/)’s squad in the January transfer window, with Spurs still competing in three competitions.

Recent [reports](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-hotspur-pedro-porro-transfer-rumours/) have suggested that the north London club are preparing a £39m bid for Porro, previously of Manchester City.

The [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) champions sold the 23-year-old in the summer, and it looks as if Tottenham have been in contact with former club officials from the Etihad Stadium.

### The Latest: Spurs want more information

[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/tottenham-sporting-porro-manchester-city-transfer/) relayed an update from [O Jogo](https://www.ojogo.pt/) on Saturday regarding Porro and Tottenham.

They claimed that Spurs chiefs have doubts about the player’s ‘physical condition’ and have contacted ‘former Manchester City officials’ to get a ‘more informed opinion’ on the defender.

### The Verdict: Smart thinking

With Spurs reportedly weighing up a £39m offer, it is vital that club officials are completely sold on all aspects of the player, with his physical condition being crucial.

Lauded as a ‘[special talent](https://twitter.com/ZachLowy/status/1583935801309601792?s=20&t=ry6sW1qc5o_XFO33rGYHJA)‘ by journalist Zach Lowy, Porro has missed [numerous matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-porro/verletzungen/spieler/553875) in recent years due to various knocks and muscle injuries, so it is a smart idea for Tottenham chiefs to contact former City officials on the player before committing to a potentially risky transfer.

The Manchester club might not be too helpful, though, considering that Porro [never made](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-porro/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/553875) a first-team appearance at the Etihad and spent the majority of his time on the club’s books [out on loan](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-porro/transfers/spieler/553875) with Real Valladolid and his current employers Sporting.
