# Playmaker: Could Diego Costa be on his way to Wolves?

**It was a transfer rumour that surprised the footballing world. Indeed, Diego Costa to Wolves was something that took supporters back a bit.**

[The Mirror report](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-among-3-prem-17982479)ed that the Europa League side are one of a handful of Premier League teams interested in the Atletico Madrid striker, and given the fact Costa’s agent is Jorge Mendes, who represents a number of players at Wolves, it has put plenty of supporters of the Molineux club on high alert of a potential star signing.

Indeed, fan channel The Wolf Pack from Two-Footed Talk has chimed in with his thoughts on the rumours in the video below, asking the all-important question of would Costa be an improvement over the current number 9 Raul Jimenez.

The Mexican international impressed in his first season in the Premier League, scoring 13 goals and assisting eight in the league ([per Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raul-jimenez/leistungsdaten/spieler/206040/plus/0?saison=2018)) as Wolves finished in a European spot in their comeback year in the English top-flight, and after such an impressive campaign it is understandable as to why some fans would be reluctant to replace Jimenez with a high reputation player.

Jimenez asserted himself as a fan favourite at Wolves last season, and although the prospect of signing Costa sounds enticing for a club aiming high, supporters appear to be eager to see the former Benfica striker progress as the team’s main target man upfront.
