Fraser Forster is a forgotten man on the south coast as he only managed to make one appearance for the Saints’ first-team in the season just gone, with three also coming in the Under-23 ranks.
Many supporters had high hopes for the goalkeeper when he joined from Celtic and it’s fair to say he showed glimpses of something special towards the start of his time at the club. But, his chances of reviving his Southampton career are very slim as some of his performances last season were unforgivable.
Interestingly, a Southampton fan representing The Saints View believes that the goalkeeper, who is valued at £9 million (by Transfermarkt), is ‘not good enough’ to stay at St Mary’s.
It’s obvious that Forster isn’t good enough for the Saints as they’ve decided against using him all season. And, the Saints are now set for years to come with Angus Gunn giving his all in-between the sticks at St Mary’s.
Southampton fans, surely it’s about time Forster found a new club? Join in with the discussion by commenting down below!
