Portsmouth: Predicted XI to face Shrewsbury Town

Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett must ensure that he gets his tactics and squad selection spot on this term as the pressure builds on him to gain promotion to the Championship.
A second consecutive failure to go through the play-offs to England’s second tier has seen Pompey set for a third season in League One and preparations are underway for the visit of Shrewsbury Town this Saturday (12/09).
With few additions to the Portsmouth squad, not too many changes will be expected this coming weekend to what fans have previously seen.
In between the sticks,
At right-back Callum Johnson is a new arrival and he could be handed his first league appearance for his new club, whilst on the opposite defensive flank is expected to be another new face in Cameron Pring.
Jack Whatmough and Sean Raggett started in the 2-0 win over Colchester United in midweek and they could continue for the game against Shrewsbury. Raggett is a third new signing at Pompey that looks set to start, having made his loan move permanent following the expiry of his contract at Norwich City.
In the two holding midfield roles, captain Tom Naylor and Bryn Morris will continue, giving the likes of Ronan Curtis, Gareth Evans and Marcus Harness the chance to play in an attacking three, with the latter hoping to build on his brace against the U’s in midweek.
The centre-forward role is arguably a position that Jackett could look to bolster during the transfer window with John Marquis the continued option and his experience should see him start this coming Saturday.
