Portsmouth are interested in making move for Gillingham striker Brandon Hanlan, according to The News.
Pompey suffered a second consecutive failure to gain promotion from League One to the Championship last season and the pressure is now firmly on Kenny Jackett to ensure that it is third time lucky.
With the transfer window in full flow, Jackett has signed just one player in the shape of Sean Raggett, strengthening his defence in the process.
One area in particular that the Fratton Park boss may look to strengthen is in attack and a link to Hanlan has now emerged.
Hanlan, has spent the past two seasons with Gillingham, where he has netted 16 goals in 83 games with six assists in the process.
Seeing his contract expire on June 30, the striker is now a free agent and The News report that Jackett is keen to add him to his squad and provide competition with the likes of Ellis Harrison and John Marquis.
The 23-year-old has previously played for the likes of Charlton Athletic and Colchester United.
One thing Kenny Jackett needs to ensure, is that he adds some extra quality to his squad before the start of the season or at very least the end of the transfer window.
Hanlan does have a mediocre scoring record, but he would provide decent back up to the forwards already at the club.
Do you think Hanlan should sign for Portsmouth and would he be a good summer signing for the club? Let us know in the comments section below…
