Portsmouth: Pompey hope that imminent Sean Raggett deal can kick-start flurry of arrivals - Portsmouth Transfer Rumours

Portsmouth look set to announce a deal for Sean Raggett in what the club hope will start a surge in new player arrivals.

Having missed out on promotion from League One this year, Pompey manager Kenny Jackett will now look to the summer transfer window to add extra depth to his squad.

One area which Jackett may be keen to improve is in defence, where both Christian Burgess (Union Saint-Gilloise) and Brandon Haunstrup (Kilmarnock) have left the club.

One potential player to arrive at Fratton Park is Raggett, having seen his contract come to an end at Norwich City as confirmed via the Norfolk club’s website.

It has now been reported that a deal is close, with Portsmouth News saying that Raggett’s announcement is imminent. The report added that the club are expecting the defender’s deal to kick-start a surge of player arrivals as they prepare for the 2020/21 season.

The 26-year-old has already linked up with Portsmouth’s players during pre-season training, having also had a loan spell with the League One side last term, and the report also claims that Lee Brown could soon follow him to Fratton Park.

Getting a deal done for Raggett is the perfect kick-start that Jackett needs for his summer transfer plans to begin.

Portsmouth have now missed out on promotion via the play-offs in the last two years, so hopefully new additions such as the ex-Norwich man could prove the difference that gets them back into the Championship.

Portsmouth fans, who else do you think Kenny Jackett should look to sign this summer? Let us know in the comments section below…
