**The media have been left praising the performance of reported [Liverpool](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/) January target Mohammed Kudus for Ghana at the FIFA [World Cup](https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/world-cup-2022/&sa=D&source=editors&ust=1669370326157412&usg=AOvVaw1OUJZuhmzveXize7QOF5hT) on Thursday.**

### The Lowdown: Liverpool scouts in attendance…

It was [reported](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/liverpool-mohammed-kudus-ajax-latest-transfer-news-rumours-updates/) earlier this week that the Anfield outfit had sent scouts to watch Kudus in action for Ghana in their 3-2 loss at the hands of Portugal.

Jurgen Klopp has been ‘keeping an eye’ on the attacking midfielder since September, when he [scored](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohammed-kudus/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/543499/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) for Ajax in a 2-1 defeat at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League group stages.

FSG [‘hope’](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/liverpool-mohammed-kudus-ajax-latest-transfer-news-rumours-updates/) to sign Kudus in the January transfer window, but his stock may rise during the World Cup.

### The Latest: Kudus impresses

Kudus got a [lovely assist](https://twitter.com/itvfootball/status/1595833237896585216) for Andre Ayew’s goal to equalise for Ghana in the second half of the game, prompting the media to sing his praises.

Journalist [Zach Lowy](https://twitter.com/zachlowy/status/1595832722978705409?s=46&t=BpBCs60kqHnGw10l0pz7mQ) dubbed him an ‘absolute stud’, while [Umir Talks](https://umir.substack.com/), who contributes for [The Athletic](https://twitter.com/umirf1), called him a ‘[special talent](https://twitter.com/umirf1/status/1595832335895007232?s=46&t=BpBCs60kqHnGw10l0pz7mQ)‘.

### The Verdict: Sign him up

Kudus’ stock is only going to rise during the World Cup, after an impressive start to the season which has seen him score 10 goals and make a further two assists in 21 games in total over all competitions so far ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohammed-kudus/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/543499/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=610&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

Aside from his assist for Ghana, he was mightily impressive again, winning a joint team-high six of his individual duels, while he also recorded two shots on target and completed all four of his dribbles ([SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/ghana-portugal/eUbsoVb)).

With the Reds lingering [outside](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) of the Champions League places this time in the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/), Kudus could make the difference in getting them higher up the table come the second part of the campaign.
