Wolves hero Ruben Neves has again been linked with a January move to Barcelona, with the midfielder seen as the 'logical' replacement for Sergio Busquets.

The Lowdown: New Neves rumours emerge

In recent days, talk regarding the 25-year-old's Molineux exit has gathered steam, with one report suggesting he could join Barca on loan during the January transfer window.

Neves was continually tipped to seal a move to the Catalan giants throughout the summer but the transfer ended up failing to come to fruition.

Now, another rumour has dropped, further suggesting that the Portuguese's departure could be a given soon.

The Latest: Another update drops

According to Sport [via Sport Witness], Neves is considered the 'most logical option' to replace the legendary Busquets, who will leave Barca at the end of the season.

It is also claimed that the La Liga club have an 'agreement' with both Jorge Mendes and Wolves regarding the player's salary and transfer fee, respectively.

The Verdict: Very hard to say no

It really does feel as though Neves and Barca are a match made in heaven, with the Wolves man possessing the technical quality and intelligence to help fill the Busquets-shaped void.

Granted, he may not be able to reach the heights of the Spaniard, considering he is arguably one of the greatest defensive midfielders of all time, but he will surely feel that he wants to test himself at that level.

A summer move would be far more beneficial from a Wolves perspective, with their new manager not wanting to lose him in January, so the hope is that the move materialises then, giving Wanderers plenty of time to find a top-class replacement.
