Journalist Dean Jones has shared his expectation in regards to Southampton and under-fire manager Nathan Jones.

The Lowdown: Jones facing pressure…

The Welshman, who took over from ex-Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl earlier this season, is facing mounting pressure with his Premier League position under scrutiny.

There have even been reports of Jones losing certain players in the St. Mary’s dressing room, and with Southampton’s form looking dire, odds are the former Luton manager could be next out the door if things don’t improve.

The Latest: Journalist shares Jones expectation…

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, reporter Jones has shared what he expects from the Southampton board surrounding their manager and possible next steps.

He explained:

“I think it’s very rare that a fanbase get to a point where they’re all so adamant that a new manager is needed and it doesn’t happen.

“I’m half expecting that the owners of Saints will end up having to get rid of him. They’re not going to want to do that, but we’ll discover how stubborn they are.”

The Verdict: Time to move on…

The 49-year-old was a questionable appointment at best given his lack of experience managing in England’s top flight and one of Europe’s most prestigious divisions.

Southampton currently lie bottom of the standings with more losses on the board than any other side, all whilst clinching just one league win in their last five.

Since Jones took over, the south coast side have managed just one win in the league – against Everton – and all signs point towards them being favourites for relegation as things stand.

Indeed, rime is running out for Southampton to make their decision and ultimately avoid a devastating drop to the Championship.

Jones’ bizarre rant after their 3-0 defeat to Brentford recently only backs the notion that he could be out of his depth for a job of this magnitude.
