# Tottenham: Destiny Udogie wows Spurs insiders

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) insiders have been left very excited by young defender Destiny Udogie amid his current loan spell at Udinese.**

### The Lowdown: Spurs seal starlet deal…

He became Spurs’ seventh summer recruit in 2022 after the Lilywhites sealed his signing from the Italian club. The Italy Under-21 international has stood out as one of Serie A’s most exciting talents over the last two years, prompting Fabio Paratici to seal a deal for him.

Udogie was promptly loaned back to Udinese for the entire 2022/23 campaign to further his development, with Bianconeri goalkeeper Marco Silvestri suggesting that Spurs had signed a [‘devastating](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/premier-league-spurs-destiny-udogie-latest-news/)‘ youngster.

### The Latest: Spurs insiders excited…

Writing for [football.london](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/romero-emerson-goal-destiny-udogie-26282205), reliable journalist Alasdair Gold has shared news on Udogie after his brief visit to north London.

The defender travelled to watch Spurs in action as they overcame West Ham 2-0 on Sunday, with Gold claiming that there is ‘plenty of excitement within’ the club about the 20-year-old’s return in the summer.

Tottenham insiders apparently believe that Udogie will have an ‘impact’ on the pitch when he gets an opportunity next season, clearly being impressed by his ability.

### The Verdict: Exciting…

Those within Hotspur Way have plenty of reason to be buzzing over Udogie and his potential to become a Spurs mainstay. As per [WhoScored,](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/86/Show/Italy-Udinese) the 20-year-old has progressed leaps and bounds yet again on loan at Udinese this season, ranking as their third-best performing player by average match rating in Serie A.

[Antonio Conte](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/antonio-conte/)‘s side could be about to see a very exciting left-wing-back option enter their ranks, given how Udogie impresses both defensively and further forward.

Hailed as ‘[extraordinary](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/players/destiny-udogie-claim-ndombele-winks-25938570)‘ by Udinese boss Andrea Sottil, the defender has averaged their second-highest rate of tackles per 90 and third highest number of interceptions this season. Going forward, Udogie sits among their top five players for key passes made and completed take-ons per match ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/86/Show/Italy-Udinese)).

At such a young age, the player’s ceiling seems vast, making it little surprise that there is an air of anticipation around N17 for when he eventually makes his [competitive Tottenham debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/destiny-udogie/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/556385).
