# Tottenham: Journalist shares ‘huge’ Spurs takeover news

**Journalist Arash Massoudi has shared a ‘huge’ bit of news as US billionaire Jahm Najafi plots an imminent [Tottenham](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) takeover bid.**

### The Lowdown: Spurs linked with takeover…

Amid the divisive ownership of Joe Lewis and ENIC, with the majority shareholders recently [attracting protests and criticism,](https://talksport.com/football/1310303/tottenham-fans-protest-enic-daniel-levy/) Spurs have been linked with a potential full takeover.

There had been [murmurs in recent months](https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/qatar-invest-tottenham-rumours-spurs-investment-explained-2075938) of QSI (Qatar Sports Investments) taking an interest in the north Londoners with chairman Daniel Levy and Nasser Al-Khelaifi [meeting in London.](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11613219/Nasser-Al-Khelaifi-meets-Daniel-Levy-PSGs-QSI-owners-look-invest-Premier-League-club.html)

The [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) top-four chasers, lead by manager [Antonio Conte,](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/antonio-conte/) appear to be attracting more outside investment with news coming to light on an expected formal bid.

### The Latest: Najafi plots Spurs takeover bid…

Taking to Twitter, reporter Massoudi, sharing his collaborated piece for [The Financial Times,](https://www.ft.com/content/c3795725-eb77-4681-848d-20c37c990386) has claimed that US-Iranian billionaire Najafi is plotting a $3.75 billion (£3.1 billion) takeover bid and the offer is expected ‘within weeks’.

Through MSP Sports Capital, a [New York-based investment company](https://www.liverpoolworld.uk/sport/football/everton/who-are-potential-everton-investors-msp-sports-capital-and-how-much-are-they-worth-4018879), Najfi has apparently set his sights on Spurs despite [links](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-investment-moshiri-msp-talks-26185078) to fellow top flight side Everton.

### The Verdict: Massive news…

ENIC and Lewis’ ownership has long divided the Spurs fanbase amid [question marks](https://talksport.com/football/1310303/tottenham-fans-protest-enic-daniel-levy/) surrounding a lack of investment and general direction of the club.

Tottenham have recently invested in the team but[also went some time](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8797677/Pochettinos-reign-Spurs-dogged-lack-transfers-year-Levy-splashing-cash.html) without making a significant senior signing under former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Lilywhites have reached a Champions League final in recent years but are without a trophy since clinching a League Cup win in 2008.

Levy is the [longest serving chairman in English top flight football](https://www.ecaeurope.com/about-eca/structure/executive-board/daniel-levy/#:~:text=Daniel%20Levy%20is%20the%20Executive,chairman%20in%20the%20Premier%20League.) and has overseen all the aforementioned events, but given Spurs’ lack of silverware or achievement, you can understand why supporters are excited by the prospect of a potential new era.
