# Tottenham: Antonio Conte now targeting Victor Osimhen

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) manager Antonio Conte is now personally keeping tabs on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports.**

### The Lowdown: Paratici planning…

The Lilywhites oversaw significant investment in Conte’s first-team squad over the summer after he guided them to a top-four finish in the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) last season.

Subsequent deals were struck for a plethora of major signings in one of Tottenham’s busiest-ever transfer windows, with club owners ENIC even granting a [£150m equity increase](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2022/may/club-announcement-tottenham-hotspur-limited-agrees-a-150m-capital-increase/).

Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie (on loan at Udinese) [all joined the club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tottenham-hotspur/transfers/verein/148), with Spurs also making Cristian Romero’s loan move permanent.

Tottenham currently sit [in the top four,](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) winning eight of their opening 14 league matches, but the demands of English top-flight football ensure that squads remain ever-changing.

### The Latest: Conte eyeing Osimhen move…

According to reports out of Italy, Conte is now thought to be an admirer of Osimhen, who has already netted a very impressive [eight goals and two assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/298510/Show/Victor-Osimhen) in nine Serie A starts this term.

This comes amid exit links surrounding star striker Harry Kane as the player’s contract is due to expire in [2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-kane/profil/spieler/132098), not to mention that the Englishman is apparently [attracting interest](https://rudygaletti.com/2022/11/08/calciomercato-intreccio-napoli-osimhen-tottenham/) from Bayern Munich.

Italian journalist [Rudy Galetti](https://rudygaletti.com/2022/11/08/calciomercato-intreccio-napoli-osimhen-tottenham/) has now claimed that Conte ‘sees’ Osimhen as the ‘ideal replacement’ for Kane.

It’s added that a ‘deal’ for the Nigeria international could ‘go through next summer’, with a 2023 agreement possible.

### The Verdict: Ambitious…

We believe that Osimhen may be too far out of chairman Daniel Levy’s desired price range.

Reports suggest that the 23-year-old could cost around [£100m](https://www.givemesport.com/88055411-man-utd-signing-100m-striker-would-be-absolutely-insane-at-old-trafford) to prise away from Napoli, even if his form indicates that he is certainly capable of performing in England.

Heralded as a [‘beast’](https://twitter.com/Dani77k/status/1580265580946259969) by members of the media, Osimhen could soon be one of the transfer talking points of next year if he continues to dazzle in Serie A.
