# West Ham: Terem Moffi price ‘not a problem’ amid transfer talks

**Lorient striker Terem Moffi’s price tag is ‘not a problem’ as journalist Ignazio Genuardi shares an update on [West Ham’s](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/) transfer talks.**

### The Lowdown: Hammers eye move…

After [sealing the signing](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12790622/danny-ings-seen-having-his-medical-ahead-of-west-ham-move) of striker Danny Ings from Aston Villa, with the Englishman now [having his medical,](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12790622/danny-ings-seen-having-his-medical-ahead-of-west-ham-move) attention has turned to the addition of further signings before January 31.

Reports suggest the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) relegation-battlers have set their sights on a [central defender](https://www.thewesthamway.com/2023/01/20/club-have-been-offered-exwhuemployee-dawson-exit-update/) as well as additions further forward as Wolves [reportedly agree a deal](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2023/01/20/wolves-agree-33m-deal-for-defender-craig-dawson/) to sign cult hero Irons centre-half Craig Dawson.

Despite the capture of Ings, reliable sources like[journalist Alan Nixon](https://www.patreon.com/posts/hammers-in-moffi-77415469) refuse to rule out the addition of another attacker as West Ham [enter contract talks](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/west-ham-in-contract-talks-to-sign-terem-moffi/) over signing Moffi.

The in-form Ligue 1 star has been a player of real interest to David Moyes and the east Londoners with a [£25 million bid made earlier this week.](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/12787511/west-ham-make-transfer-bid-worth-up-to-25m-for-lorient-and-nigeria-striker-terem-moffi)

### The Latest: Genuardi shares Moffi update…

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/IgnazioGenuardi/status/1616124795804086279), reporter Genuardi has shared what he knows on West Ham’s bid to sign the Nigerian forward.

[![West Ham latest updates!](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/cropped-david-moyes-premier-league-scaled-1.jpg)](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/west-ham-latest-uodates/)

He claims the cost of a deal is no issue to the Hammers but are still waiting on Moffi to make a decision over the move – meanwhile, talks are ongoing in the background.

He explained:

“After finding a global agreement for the transfer of D.Ings (Aston Villa), #West #Ham continues to negotiate for #Moffi ( #Lorient ). The cost of the deal is not a problem, it is above all a question of convincing the Nigerian striker. The Hammers could do both.”

### The Verdict: Get it done…

The 23-year-old has stood out as Lorient’s star player this year and arguably one of the French top flight’s most exciting attackers.

Scoring [12 goals in 17 starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/146/Show/France-Lorient), Moffi’s electric form has highlighted his proven goalscoring ability and the Nigerian could be a real asset under Moyes at the London Stadium.

Members of the media have lavished praise on the forward in recent seasons, calling him a [‘big talent’ and ‘explosive’,](https://twitter.com/RBairner/status/1383456971739721732) with Moffi’s form seriously backing those tags.

West Ham are among the [division’s lowest goalscoring teams](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) and it’s clear they need firepower – especially with a [reported injury](https://www.thewesthamway.com/2023/01/18/even-more-critical-exwhuemployee-scamacca-injury/) to summer signing Gianluca Scamacca.

Getting a deal done for Moffi alongside Ings would be a real statement of intent as they battle to avoid a drop to the Championship.
