**[Wolves](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/) could sign Man United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka after sealing a move for Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha, according to reports.**

### The Lowdown: Old Gold eye move…

The [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) relegation-battlers are apparent frontrunners to sign Wan-Bissaka as things stand as they enter [pole position for his signing](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/premier-league-wolves-man-united-aaron-wan-bissaka-latest-transfer-rumours/).

United’s outcast has had a tough time under Erik ten Hag this season, playing precious few minutes as many other clubs become[linked](https://www.90min.com/posts/crystal-palace-hopeful-beating-wolves-aaron-wan-bissaka) heading into January.

The 25-year-old may need a fresh start away from Old Trafford and Old Gold boss Julen Lopetegui may be able to provide the perfect escape route.

### The Latest: Wolves could sign Wan-Bissaka ‘after Cunha’…

Speaking to [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88096775-wolves-transfer-update-sign-matheus-cunha-julen-lopetegui), reporter Dean Jones says the links to Wan-Bissaka should be ‘taken seriously’ and he could in fact come to Molineux ‘after Cunha’.

The journalist added that United chiefs are ‘open’ to doing a deal after long ‘waiting’ for an offer from Palace.

*“Cunha is the first step towards the six players they want in, and I think the Wan-Bissaka talk should be taken seriously – he could be one that comes in after Cunha. United are open to it and have spent too long waiting for an offer from \[Crystal\] Palace to land.”*

### The Verdict: Make the move?

The [£100,000-per-week right-back](https://salarysport.com/football/player/aaron-wan-bissaka/) may have had a last 12 months to forget, but his quality is certainly there when playing at peak level.

Jamie Carragher once hailed him as one of the best [one-v-one defenders around](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/manchester-united-news-aaron-wan-bissaka-best-in-world-jamie-carragher-a9390611.html) with former England Women’s international Lianne Sanderson calling Wan-Bissaka a ‘[fantastic’](https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1308366860820381697) full-back.

Depending on the conditions of a potential deal, this could be on to watch heading into next month.
