£10M Would Be A Very Shrewd Bit Of Business Indeed…

Arjen Robben reminded everybody just how could he could be on Wednesday night. With his two goals, and a match winning performance against England. Fast, powerful and clinical, Robben on form can be one of the best wingers in the world.

But Robben has not always been on this kind of form this season, and has not been a regular in the Bayern starting 11. Robben admitted to The Mirror he is unhappy in his current situation

“I don’t have an ideal situation in Germany.

“I am now considering the options I have and I will get.’’

Robben’s troubles at Bayern are exacerbated by bad blood with the fans and staff. Bayern Legend Beckenbauer recently complained “He should be thanking team mates who work so hard for him.”.

Robben really put Premier League clubs on alert when he said “I can try put up a brave face and make out all the things in Munich do not effect me, but of course it gets on my nerves and effects me. I just needed this game against England so much. It was a joy to be playing at my best again.’’

It’s thought with just a year left on his contract, clubs may be able to acquire for £10 million. A bargain if ever I’ve heard one.

The race for a summer swoop for Robben is said to be between Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs. Chelsea are understandably seen to be in pole position as Robben enjoyed his time there, and has apparently stayed in touch with many of the squad. However he is friends with the ‘Old Guard’ AVB has clashed with. In Football terms Robben would be an ideal signing, but would AVB want throw another friend to the dissenters?

Update: AVB is now out the door, leaving it open for Robben.
