One constant with the West Ham United fans here in The Transfer Tavern this season has been their desire to see a more ruthless attacking force in the English Premier League. Blighted by striking problems all year, they’re urging Slaven Bilic to get the finger out and make some moves in the upcoming transfer window.
There’s good news then for fans wanting such action as latest reports in The Sun suggest that Bilic is weighing up a move for Tolouse forward Martin Braithwaite.
The Danish international has been in good form for the Ligue 1 side thiseason, netting 12 goals and assisting 3 more in all competitions.
That record may not point to the 26-year-old being the kind of prolific poacher Hammers fans might want, but he isn’t that kind of forward, showing the versatility this season to play not just through the middle but also on the left flank.
The Sun reckon he would cost the Irons around £7.5m, which of course is well within the club’s budget these days. However, the report also suggests they face competition from the likes of French giants Marseille and Bundesliga club Cologne.
Can Slaven Bilic convince the attacker his future lies at the London Stadium?
Hammers fans – what’s your thoughts on this potential move? Is he the kind of player you feel like you need this summer or are you hoping for a higher standard of player?
