£133m to spend: 3 players Liverpool need to splash the cash on to secure 2nd place if Coutinho leaves

Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping they see more early window signings, following the quick start Klopp got by bringing Virgil Van Dijk to the club straight away.

Indeed, following the breaking news that Philippe Coutinho reportedly wants to leave the club this window for Barcelona and Klopp may find himself with some extra money to spend on strengthening his squad. In fact, according to reports, it could bring in a fee of around £133m.

Despite his impressive forward line, the Reds boss will want to start bringing some quality into the team as he looks to secure a place in the Champions League spots.

Especially if the Anfield outfit are to secure a top four finish, which looks likely to be a dog-fight between five teams for the remaining three spots up for grabs. Though it’ll be difficult, the Merseyside giants certainly are well-placed to have a big say on the complexion of the league table, behind Manchester City.

Our punters think it will take three quality signings for Liverpool to really turn on the gas and overtake United and Chelsea to grab the runners-up spot, but if Klopp considers these three players our landlord has been talking about recently, they’ll stand a good chance of doing so…
