The Spurs transfer rumours are coming thick and fast these days. And now alongside Hazard, Giroud, Remy, and Sterling we can add the name Moussa Dembele.
However, like the others on the list, the player won’t come cheap. Spurs has a 10 million approach dismissed in January, and may have to up the bid to closer to the 15 million mark, for the 24 year old playmaker.
Dembele has been a key part of Fulham’s attack, forming a dangerous trio of attacking midfielders, with Dempsey and Ruiz. Dembele is also a part of a new golden generation for Belgium.
However, his good form for Fulham has caught more than just Harry’s eye, and Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested. But Dembele has recently been quoted speaking highly of Spurs, saying,
‘It would obviously be a step higher, and that has always been my goal,’
he told De Standaard.
‘I did well last season when I was not injured, through many matches for Fulham. So why not step higher?’
A good player who has proven himself in the Prem, but is he merely a slightly goal-shy, backup if Spurs should miss out on Hazard? Or, costing less and with more Prem experience than his compatriot, is he a smarter, safer move?
If Spurs do slip out of the top 4 then Hazard may well look elsewhere, and we will suddenly be very thankful for Dembele.
