Everton fans at The Transfer Tavern haven’t exactly been lacking for striking talent this season. Get into a conversation with any of them round the bar and they’re sure to wax lyrical about the skills of Romelu Lukaku and his impact on the club.
Still though, standing still in the English Premier League is dangerous and you’d expect Ronald Koeman will be on the hunt for even more attacking threat in the summer transfer window.
The Toffees are in a fantastic position having finished strongly in 7th this season and possessing the resources to make some significant moves for players.
One such talent interesting Koeman is Malaga’s Sandro Ramirez. The Daily Mail reckon Everton are ready to pay £5.2m to bring the former Barcelona man to Goodison Park after he tore up La Liga this season.
The paper say he could even arrive in Liverpool as early as Monday to discuss his proposed move.
He scored 16 goals in 31 games for the Spanish club this term, a substantial return for a team who aren’t exactly top contenders.
Still just 21 years of age, the reported fee appears to be an absolute bargain, especially for a player who got a football education at Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy.
With the ability to play through the middle or on the flanks, he could be the perfect addition to Everton whether Romelu Lukaku stays or the club decide to cash in on his talent.
What do you think Everton fans? Is Sandro Ramirez the kind of attacking signing you had in mind this summer or should Ronald Koeman be looking for a higher calibre of forward?
