There is a lot of uncertainty amongst a host of Chelsea players this summer, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for much of it to get resolved…
One such player that faces an uncertain future is young Bertrand Traore, and according to Foot Mercato, the Burkina Faso international could make a surprise Premier League switch this summer. Foot Mercato are reporting that a host of clubs have made an offer for the attacker, including Premier League duo Everton and West Ham. It is said that the offers may be falling short of Chelsea’s €20 million (£20 million) valuation, though further interest has not been ruled out.
Traore has, of course, spent the last year on loan with Ajax, where has impressed for the Dutch outfit. Able to play anywhere across the attack, Traore scored 9 goals in the Eredivisie last season as he continued his progression.
Having emerged as an impressive young talent several years ago, Traore looked destined for stardom at Chelsea, even remaining at Chelsea during the 2015/16 campaign as he looked to gain a role in the Blues’ first team. Unfortunately for him, though, a poor showing during pre-season forced him out of the club last summer, albeit on a temporary basis, though that could now become a permanent move this summer. Chelsea appear happy to sell the player this time around, though only if their asking price is met.
Significantly, the interest of Everton is particularly interesting, given Chelsea’s links with current Everton man Romelu Lukaku. Perhaps the Blues could look to do a deal with the Toffees that may see the players swap places.
