The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were pleased with last weekend’s victory over Crystal Palace. The comprehensive thrashing of Roy Hodgson’s side showed that they are already starting to forget Alexis Sanchez and look ahead to the future.
But the reality is that they still need to replace the Chilean with another winger. Arsene Wenger will undoubtedly be scouring his options this month as he looks to strengthen his squad.
But following Watford’s decision to sack Marco Silva, they should take advantage of this and make a move for star man Richarlison. The Brazil youth international joined the Hornets in the summer and has been a revelation, but he took to Twitter to post an angry-faced emoji following Watford’s decision to part ways with the man who brought him to England.
This sparked a social media frenzy and all of the top clubs are undoubtedly going to take an interest in the young attacker, who seems unsettled at Vicarage Road. Arsenal should steal a march on their rivals as Richarlison would be an ideal long-term replacement for Sanchez.
The 20-year-old has taken to life in England with ease, netting an impressive tally of five goals to add to his four assists in his 24 Premier League appearances so far. If he remains in the league and moves to a better club, Richarlison can continue his development as a promising young player.
Rated at £18m by the guys over at Transfermarkt, he’s able to operate on both wings and centrally, making him a useful versatile option to step into Sanchez’s shoes.
