Chelsea and Manchester United are having quite the differing of seasons it must be said this term.

The Blues, led by Mauro Sarri, are challenging for the top and smashed four past Burnley this afternoon, while United continue to find any consistency, despite leading against Everton at the time of writing.

The January window is expected to be a busy one this time around, especially for United, who are desperate for new signings to improve a squad which has a number of deficiencies within it.

That's why we here at the Tavernt think United, and Chelsea, should be keeping a close eye on Dortmund midfielder Thomas Delaney, who is continually improving and developing into one of the finest midfielders in Europe.

The £19.8m-rated Danish star has only been with his new club since the summer, but contracts can sometimes mean very little in modern day football, and with the right bid, he could well be tempted away from Germany.

Both United and Chelsea could do with some energy in midfield, more so United, but the Blues would also not want to pass up the chance to sign a player like Delaney.

Full of running, good with the ball, and at 27, coming into his prime, the Dane would make a superb signing for a number of Premier League clubs, while he surely wants to challenge himself at the top level in football before it's too late.

United and Chelsea fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
