Liverpool supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side emphatically book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a 7-0 thumping of Spartak Moscow in their final group game at Anfield on Wednesday.
Jurgen Klopp’s men knew that victory would clinch top spot in Group E while a draw would also have been enough for qualification, yet the result was never really in doubt as the Merseyside giants produced another clinical attacking display on Wednesday. A hat-trick from Philippe Coutinho, a brace from Sadio Mane, as well as strikes from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah sealed a sensational win for the Reds, who became the fourth English team to win their Champions League group this season, alongside Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham.
Subsequently, there have been many thrilled Liverpudlians in the Tavern this week, several of whom are revelling in their team’s wonderful unbeaten run, which stretched to nine games following the rout on Wednesday night.
