Rangers supporters have been particularly downbeat and quite restless in the Transfer Tavern after seeing their side, who remain managerless almost a month on from Pedro Caixinha’s departure, go down 2-0 to Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, thus suffering a third league defeat of the campaign.
Interim boss Graeme Murty had led the Gers to two wins from his opening two games in temporary charge to somewhat steady the ship at Ibrox, but he was unable to celebrate a third successive victory in the hotseat. Goals from David Templeton and Darren Lyon in the second half sealed a deserved 2-0 success for Martin Canning’s men, who in turn moved up to seventh in the division, while fourth place Rangers now find themselves nine points adrift of leaders Celtic after they won 1-0 at Ross County earlier in the day.
Consequently, there have been many frustrated and disappointed Rangers fans in the Tavern this week, many of whom are beginning to get restless with regard to the ongoing pursuit of a new manager, with it seemingly no clearer as to who the next Gers boss will be.
In the meantime though, there has been plenty for those Rangers supporters lining up at the bar to discuss, not least a recent report which suggests that their club are eyeing up a January move for Manchester United starlet Scott McTominay.
The 20-year-old came up through the ranks at Old Trafford and has since gone on to make six senior appearances for the Red Devils, two of which have come in the Champions League this season.
Nonetheless, the midfielder doesn’t look like commanding regular football in Jose Mourinho’s side and as such has reportedly attracted the interest of Rangers, and if the Gers were indeed able to get a deal done for the United man, here are TWO other stars who could follow him to Ibrox…
