2 things we learned as Wenger’s Arsenal overcame a poor United at the Emirates

It was a seriously promising afternoon for Arsenal and under-fire Arsene Wenger at the Emirates today as his side overcame Manchester United 2-0.

It’s a result that seriously strengthens the Gunners’ push for the Champions League places and with Liverpool drawing against Southampton earlier today, Arsenal have picked up some serious ground in the league.

There were some strong performances from the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain once again whilst United’s much-changed XI didn’t really look like winning the match at any point throughout the afternoon.

Jose Mourinho had one eye on his side’s second-leg Europa League semi-final with Celta Vigo later next-week which is understandable but the ease in which his side were beaten today has left the United fans here in the Tavern a little frustrated.

But the result is in the bag for Arsenal, who will take serious hope into their final couple of games this season.
