Spurs are hoping to round off an excellent season in a few weeks time with a Champions League final win against Liverpool.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men put in one of the finest second half displays in recent times this past week against Ajax, and there is every chance that they can find it within themselves to see off a Liverpool team who will be reeling from missing out on the Premier League title.
This summer is bound to be a big one for the Londoners, with the club finally expected to make some big moves in the transfer market and add to their already exciting squad.
One man who has been linked with the club this weekend is 20-year-old Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes, who has been in fine form for the Portguese outfit this season.
Spurs will be looking to sign quality young players to add to their ranks and fit in with the current ethos of the squad, and Fernandes would be a superb signing for the club to make at a time when capitalising on momementum is key to the club.
Fernandes is someone who has plenty of potential to improve further, but there is no question he could come into the squad and do a good job right now for Spurs.
A player who is capable on the ball but strong in the tackle and positionally aware for someone so young, Fernandes would add an element of class to a Spurs midfield which can at times look lightweight when injuries hit.
While other clubs will be interested in bringing in Fernandes, Spurs have every reason to believe they can beat their rivals and bring one of Europe’s hottest young talents to the Premier League.
