Chelsea made their way into the last eight of the FA Cup this weekend with considerable ease, dispatching Hull City 4-0 to cruise past their Championship opponents at the Bridge.
The Blues fans here in the Tavern have been in an excellent mood of late, with some of them confident their bad patch is now behind them and with full backing, Antonio Conte will go on to get it right again for the current Premier League title holders.
Our landlord has been having a long hard think about what Chelsea need to do this summer, and he believes that the club need to go out and invest in some of the top talent out there at the moment to make up for what have been some lacklustre signings over the last 18 months.
One such player who has sprung to mind is £22.5m-rated midfielder Youri Tielemans, who has once again been in superb form for Monaco this term over in France.
Tielemans is yet another Belgian player off the current line of top quality players emerging from the small European nation, and at just 20, he is the ideal age for someone to snap him up in a big money move and nurture him into becoming one of the world’s best.
His form for Monaco has been excellent, and he really does play with a maturity beyond his years for the French giants.
A move eventually is inevitable for the young Belgian, and he would fit right in at Chelsea if the Blues decided to make their move this summer.
