22-year-old Man Utd man reportedly ‘certain’ to leave this summer, Mourinho wants deal done quickly

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern had very high hopes for Adnan Januzaj a few years ago…

Signed as a young player and hyped to the moon, it was always going to be tough for the Belgian to live up to expectations. Seen by many in the Transfer Tavern as the heir apparent to Ryan Giggs, it just hasn’t happened for Januzaj.

A loan to Sunderland last year did very little to excite supporters, and now it looks like his time at Old Trafford might be up.

According to Belgian publication DH, Januzaj is ‘certain’ to leave Old Trafford this summer, with the club looking to tie up a deal quickly. Significantly, negotiations with Roma are understood to be forthcoming.

Of course, as a teenager, many were taking Januzaj’s future as a given. For many in the pub, there was no doubting that he was going to be a star, but unfortunately, it just hasn’t happened as of late. A poor spell under Louis van Gaal was the first sign, whilst his performances since then have only worsened his position.

Indeed, whilst many in the pub still dream of him playing for the club, our landlord has given up hope of that being the case. Whilst young players like Marcus Rashford have come in and made an impact, Januzaj has stumbled – as so many players have in the past.
