The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been feeling rather confident that their side will sign Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer, but it doesn’t look like confirmation of that deal will be coming anytime soon…
According to Manchester Evening News, Chelsea’s progress in securing a deal for Bakayoko is still at a very early stage, with no ‘concrete’ movements made as of yet. Rather, Manchester Evening News are reporting that the midfielder is also interested in a move to Man Utd this summer, and whilst Chelsea’s discussions are ongoing – it appears as though the Red Devils remain firmly in the race.
This has come as a huge boost for the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, many of whom think that Bakayoko is exactly the type of player that they need in their midfield. Strong, powerful and technical, the midfielder is a real force in the middle-of-the-park, and our landlord thinks that he would be fantastic alongside Ander Herrera for the Red Devils.
For Chelsea, meanwhile, a midfield combination of N’Golo Kante and Bakayoko has left the Chelsea fans in the pub drooling into their pint glasses.
Indeed, any deal for Bakayoko will likely be a costly one, considering how impressive he has been for the French outfit this season. A crucial midfield component en route to Monaco’s historic Ligue 1 title victory, Bakayoko is clearly a man in demand this summer – with both Man Utd and Chelsea seemingly desperate to get a deal done.
