22-year-old Spurs midfielder needs to make a summer move to ensure his career progresses

Spurs will be looking to secure a top four berth over the coming months as the Premier League season heads towards its close, and manager Mauricio Pochettino will know he will need to juggle his squad with the Champions League also on his mind.

The Londoners have once again been impressive this season, and despite at times maybe not hitting the performance levels of the last two years, the form of Harry Kane has ensured that they are right in the mix.

Here in the Tavern, our landlord loves to have a good old beer with the Spurs faithful, and he has been having a good chat this week about the current squad and looking at who might be on their way out of the club come the summer.

One player who sprung to mind is young midfielder Harry Winks, who despite being highly rated by his manager, has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first eleven.

With the World Cup this summer, Winks will be hoping to get some game time in before now and the end of the season as he looks to push his way into Gareth Southgate’s thinking for the tournament in Russia.

However, if Winks does miss out, he might well begin to question why, and blaming it on a lack of first team chances with Spurs could well be his big reason.

Winks has the ability to become a top class central midfield player in the Premier League, and if Spurs are not going to use him, then there will be plenty of clubs waiting in the wings to take him off their hands should he fancy a move.

Spurs fans, what do you think? Should Winks be more involved? Let us know in the comments!
