The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a quick resolution to the Zlatan Ibrahimovic saga…
Having moved to Old Trafford last summer, the Swedish forward has made a seismic impact in the Premier League – scoring 15 Premier League goals and arguably becoming the most important player in Jose Mourinho’s squad.
However, despite his impact, his future has not yet been assured. His current contract expires at the end of the season, and with no renewal confirmed as of yet, some of the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to grow increasingly concerned at the thought of the striker leaving.
It is certainly a worrying thought, with Wayne Rooney also touted with a move away from the club.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has seen fit to pour cold water on the exit talk, though, with the striker recently admitting that he COULD still play for Man Utd next season.
According to Manchester Evening News, he said: “Let’s see what happens, we [Man Utd and Ibrahimovic] are talking”.
“I never leave a job unfinished” claimed the Swedish forward.
Ibrahimovic, who reportedly earns £220,000-per-week, is certainly not ruling out a departure, and his suggestion that he won’t leave a job unfinished is certainly telling. You could argue that his work isn’t finished until Man Utd are back at the top of the table, so could he stay this summer?
