Leeds United have seen their season peeter out once more as more managerial changes and inconsistent performances have led them to nothing more than a mid-table finish in the Sky Bet Championship.
Here at the Tavern, our landlord thinks that manager Paul Heckingbottom will already be weighing up his options ahead of the summer transfer window, and we think might well fancy bringing in a few new strikers to the club.
Our punters in our bar have been speaking to our landlord this week, and they have been telling him about what’s been going on down in League One, and Peterborough striker Jack Marriott has been catching and the eye with his goals and performances.
Marriott has smashed in 25 goals this season for the Posh in what has been a standout season from the 23-year-old, putting his name up in lights as one of the most sought after talents outside of the top two tiers.
The striker is a player with bags of potential, and will no doubt be keen to make the step up to the Championship as soon as possible. With Peterborough scrapping it out for a playoff spot, he could well achieve that goal this season, but the chance of moving to a club like Leeds and firing them to the top flight could be too good a chance to turn down.
Leeds fans, what do you think? Would this be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
