Fans in the Transfer Tavern have been laughing at Leeds United as they enter advanced talks to appoint Marcelo Bielsa as the latest manager at Elland Road. The Argentinian gaffer has managed at both international and club level at the highest standard with Argentina, Marseille and Lazio and now he could be set to take up the reigns at Leeds United.

This season will be Leeds 15th straight year outside of England’s top flight, their longest absence from the top tier of English football in their history. Whilst it’s obviously been a long time coming since the Whites were able to enjoy top-flight football if they can get Bielsa on board it could signal that their time in the Championship could be coming to an end.
Leeds finished 13th in the Championship last season after both Thomas Christensen and Paul Heckingbottom couldn’t help the club break into the play-off places, despite the fact the club was hanging onto 6th place at the turn of the year. They’re now destined for another season in the Championship and it remains to be seen whether Marcelo Bielsa can be the man to lift them out of the misery and into the top flight.

Does,nt matter who they get in they will still sack em after 4 months. They are not the big club that they think they are

I can write the headline in December, “Leeds United in advanced talks with Alan Pardew”

It's fair enough having "the best coach in the world" but he must be given the funds necessary to ensure promotion, otherwise it will be another waste.

He's controversial but his footballing methods are exemplary, one of the great footballing teachers however he cant speak a word of English, which may be a problem.
