The Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern can’t quite believe the mammoth swing in rumours surrounding their summer business over the last couple of days.
A number of them were heading out the Tavern to get the name of Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata printed across the back of their shirts for the new season, until reports revealed a fee had been agreed to land Everton striker Romelu Lukaku for £75m.
After the celebrations over a deal for the former Chelsea man calmed there was further good news for the resident United fans here in the bar.
According to reports from the Daily Star, manager Jose Mourinho has rebuilt his relationship with the Belgian international, who has supposedly agreed a £250k-a-week deal at Old Trafford, after the pair failed to see eye-to-eye in their time together at Stamford Bridge.
The tabloid go on to claim that, having put their differences aside the Toffees top scorer is now relishing the chance to work with the Portuguese once more.
Lukaku’s chances in west London were limited before the now Red Devils boss decided to sell him to the Toffees in 2013.
