The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern want to sign a new centre back in the January transfer window.
They are content with their first three options in Vincent Kompany, John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi.
But with Kompany’s persistent injury problems and Stones currently sidelined, Manchester City are a bit light in that department.
However, signing a new centre back in the January transfer window could spell the end of Eliaquim Mangala’s Manchester City career.
The France international has recently admitted that he will need to look for a new club when the transfer window opens in the new year, according to a report by The Sun.
Mangala is out of favour at Man City and faces an uncertain future at The Etihad.
As a result, the 26-year-old will be looking to engineer a move away from Manchester City to further his career and improve his first team France ambitions.
With just five appearances in all competitions to his name this term, Mangala is unhappy and wants to move.
If Mangala does leave then Manchester City could revisit moves for a duo of Premier League centre backs who were targets in the summer – West Brom’s Jonny Evans and Southampton’s Virgil Van Dijk.
