The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern want Eden Hazard to stay at Stamford Bridge for a very long time…
The Belgian has been the star of the show in London for quite some time now, having really impressed during his tenure in the Premier League.
Indeed, he only appears to be getting better, and the Chelsea fans in the pub want him to spend his best years playing at Stamford Bridge.
For that to be the case, though, Chelsea need to tie him down to a new long-term contract, and the Belgian himself has recently discussed this very matter.
Speaking to journalists whilst away on international duty, Belgian writer Kristof Terruer has reported on Twitter that Hazard has revealed that whilst he is ‘waiting’ for a new deal, there is nothing on the table quite yet.

The fact that Hazard is said to be waiting for an offer is certainly positive, as it appears as though he wants to extend his tenure at the club. Slightly more concerning, though, is the fact that Chelsea have not yet capitalised on that.
Clearly, then, whilst the transfer window is about to close, Chelsea’s most important deal of the year could come thereafter.
Hazard is invaluable to Chelsea, and his retention is the best piece of business that they could possibly do. They’ve managed to hang on to him this summer, but a new deal should mean that he remains at the club for the foreseeable future.
He’s currently injured but looks set to return over the coming weeks, and that will be a massive boost for the Blues. Perhaps fresh terms can be agreed thereafter.
