Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern hope this is a swift summer after talkSPORT reported that Torino defender Kamil Glik has dismissed rumours linking him with a move to Old Trafford.
In the past few days Glik has been speculated to be on the verge of a move to United but it seems as though this is not the case.
Punters in the Tavern hope that United’s strong end to the season doesn’t over shadow the fact they have a defence that needs strengthening.
Glik is a solid player but they will need more to come in during the summer transfer window, after van Gaal failed to address this problem last year.
The Polish international has had an impressive season in Serie A and has surprisingly scored eight goals as a centre half.
Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the 27-year-old but he insists he has not been contacted by any club over a move.
“I am a player of Torino, and I have a contract for two more years,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“At the end of the season, we will sit around the table with the president to talk about the future.
“I have not received any offers. If someone wants me, they must first talk to [president Urbano] Cairo, not me.”
