27-year-old’s representatives to hold talks with Tottenham boss Levy this week

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for Danny Rose’s future to get resolved…

The defender is facing an uncertain future at White Hart Lane at present, with recent comments made in an interview with the Sun suggesting that he could look to seek an exit.

Since that point, wild speculation has reached fever pitch in the Football Transfer Tavern, with supporters of a number of clubs hoping that their side could look to capitalise.

As of yet, Rose looks likely to stay at Tottenham for this season at least, but a development in this saga could see that situation change.

According to the Independent, Rose is set for talks with Tottenham this week as he looks to iron out his future. Whilst Tottenham have been hesitant to sell thus far, they are expected to lay out their plans in the meeting, and should they choose to sell – they would look for in excess of £50 million.

The general feeling here appears to be that Rose would be available for sale at any other time, but the delayed nature of his comments has left Tottenham with very little time to bring in a replacement. As a result, he could be forced to stay for the season ahead.

That, of course, is information that will be decided this week, so it’s looking set to be a career defining few days for Danny Rose.

Landlord’s Verdict

With less than two weeks to go until the window closes, Tottenham wouldn’t be wise to sell Rose without bringing in a replacement.

Though he hasn’t played since January, it’s clear that he is one of their best defenders, and so it would be a massive error to just cast him aside.

Still, they can’t afford to keep an unhappy player at the club, so Tottenham must tread lightly.
