28-year-old attacker reportedly wants to be at Arsenal next season

Theo Walcott has proven to be a divisive figure in the Transfer Tavern…

Touted with greatness from a young age, it was always going to be tough for Theo Walcott to exceed expectations.

Over the last few years, he has continually shifted between a key player and a rotational player, and that is a pattern that is likely to continue next season and beyond – provided that he stays at Arsenal.

The fans in the Transfer Tavern have been speculating that he could look to leave the club this summer in search of pastures new, but according to the Daily Star – that isn’t the case.

The Daily Star reports that Walcott has privately told friends that he wants to remain at Arsenal next season and fight for his place.

This is particularly significant given that Arsenal have already shown that they are willing to spend big this summer with the capture of Alexandre Lacazette, whilst another big money move for Thomas Lemar has also been touted. The signing of Lemar, in particular, would likely push Walcott further down the pecking order.

That being said, he is a player that is very useful for Arsenal, and his pace always makes him an asset for Arsene Wenger. If he wants to stay, the Frenchman should look to use him next year.
