In the Transfer Tavern there are a variety of fans discussing old football stories from the past.

Whether that be controversial moments such as Cantona's kung-fu kick to more joyous times like Blackburn's memorable title win.

However while most fans know these tales and chatter by the pool table, there are a few major moments that only committed fans of the club will remember and mull over as they have a pint at the bar.

The Tottenham fans in the Tavern are telling stories of the past that only a certain amount of Spurs fans will even remember.

Whether they are good or bad they will be forever ingrained in the memory of a die-hard Spurs fanatic.

So here are THREE massive moments that only die-hard Tottenham fans will remember.....

The UEFA Cup victory (1971/72)

Tottenham Hotspurfans

While this is nearly 45 years ago, It will certainly be remembered by die-hard Tottenham fans just for significance alone.

Spurs were the first team to win the Uefa Cup (now known as the Europa League) and they won it in style beating Wolves 3-2 in a two legged encounter.

Now while the memory of the matches may not be fully remembered, Spurs' last minute winner in the first leg by Martin Chivers will forever go down in the history of the club.

Their are some moments that should live on in a fan's memory forever and it doesn't matter whether you were alive for that moment or not.

So next time a Tottenham pub quiz is occurring you know one question that is bound to be included.

Some Spurs fans love the guy, while some would want to forget he existed.

However regardless of which stance you have, Alan Sugar's takeover of Tottenham was a huge moment for the club.

With the club suffering from financial issues, Alan Sugar stepped up the challenge and became the majority shareholder of Tottenham Hotspur, easing the club's finances.

His tenure as the Tottenham owner still causes debates today as the Spurs fans start to get rowdy by the jukebox.

Some criticise Sugar's ambition as they never finished in the top 6 throughout his reign. While others say he stabilised the club.

One thing is for sure.

If you are a die-hard Spurs fan then you remember the day when Alan Sugar took over Tottenham Hotspur.

Whether you want to remember it, is an entirely different story.

Many Tottenham fans will remember their brilliant Champions League push, getting to the quarter-finals before being knocked out by Real Madrid.

Spurs faced an AC Milan side who were at the top of Italian football and boasted the likes of Thiago Silva, Nesta, Seedorf, Ibrahimovic and many more unbelievable talents.

Yet Tottenham managed to dig down and Peter Crouch scored in the 80th minute to stun AC Milan in their own backyard.

The Tottenham Hotspur fans are dancing with glee around the Tavern floor as the memories of that night start to be replayed in their heads.

With Tottenham qualifying for the Champions League for the second time in their history this year, the club and their fans will be hoping that more massive moments will be created.
