Everton added seven new players to their ranks during this summer’s transfer window, as new boss Ronald Koeman began his overhaul of the Merseyside club.
The signing of Yannick Bolasie was the Toffees’ marquee arrival, however Evertonian’s were also pleased to see both Ashley Williams from Swansea and Idrissa Gueye from Aston Villa sign their names on the dotted lines ahead of the new season.
Fulham keeper Marteen Stekelenburg, as well as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Chris Renshaw and Basalla Sambou -all from the lower tiers of English football – also arrived in what was a busy window for Ronald Koeman and his new club. The loan signing of West Ham’s Enner Valencia capped off the summer’s business.
The Toffees fans will be hoping their new men can live up to both the expectation set before them – as well as their hefty transfer fees – in order to improve on the disappointment that was last season.
If the opening four games are anything to go by, then they shall not be disappointed as all 4 of their major signings have had a terrific start to the season, as Everton sit 3rd in the table with 10 points from a possible 12.
