The saga between Stevan Jovetic, Chelsea and Fiorentina has been so long running now it would need a movie to be explained!

And like any good movie all the build up leads to a twist. Well after being 'warned off' Jovetic numerous times and having bids rejected by the Italian club it seems Chelsea's persistence is about to pay off.

Reports suggest Fiorentina were insulted by Chelsea's £20m offer but it has now emerged Jovetic has a £25m release clause which Chelsea will activate with their next offer.

So it seems, like many movies, this saga is going to have the story book ending both Jovetic and Chelsea were craving. However, just as when leaving the cinema after watching a movie Chelsea fans will be asking was it worth it?

Well, here is 3 reasons why Chelsea fans should be excited over the 22-year-old Montenegrin.

 Potential

Jovetic is only 22-years-old and is a very exciting prospect. At such a tender age we as Chelsea fans should not be fooled thinking they are buying the finished article, instead they should be excited by the prospect that he is only going to get better (if he follows the traditional development line). He is already a good player which means he should develop at Chelsea surrounded by better players into a very good player and eventually a great player.

Threat

Jovetic certainly poses an attacking threat which looking at our current squad we are lacking slightly. With Fernando Torres set to lead the line, the back-up department is lacking with only the enigma that is Romelu Lukaku and Daniel Sturridge (who may not be a Chelsea player come September). Jovetic scored 14 goals for the Viola last season but offers more than just goals. He reminds me a lot of Nicolas Anelka, a versatile forward who can play numerous positions while both scoring and creating goals. With Hazard, Torres, Mata and Jovetic among others we will certainly pose a threat to any defence next season.

Hunger

Coming from a club like Fiorentina coupled with his youthful age Jovetic will be hungry for success. This is a vital key for any player who wants to succeed at a top level club. From the current crop of Chelsea players all of whom have won trophies the hunger may be dying (although this is doubtful amongst such professional players) but out of the new signings Eden Hazard has won titles and cups in France while Marko Marin has won a Bundesliga title.

Jovetic on the other hand is trophiless, both for Fiorentina and on the International scene, the growing hunger to win trophies must be burning deep for such a talented player right now which will only benefit Chelsea continued guest for success.
