The latest striker to be linked with a January move to the Emirates is Uruguayan Edinson Cavani. Reports suggest the Gunners are lining up a £30 million move for the Napoli striker.
But this just won’t happen. Another rumour that will soon disappear in to thin air. After reported interest from Chelsea last season, Cavani opted to sign a new five year deal at Napoli. Therefore, why would he want to join a club currently struggling in the league when he could have joined the European champions.
Scout Steve Rowley witnessed Cavani’s four goals last Thursday in the Europa League and apparently came back with a glowing report. Arsenal could have saved money on flights to scout him by asking any football fan about Cavani’s abilities. He does not need to be scouted for two reasons. One, we all know what a talent he is and two, he will not join Arsenal. His record speaks for itself, 79 goals in 108 games. But he has already expressed his desire to eclipse the legend Diego Maradona’s at the club.
I am getting tired of the rumours have been flying around concerning the club’s finances and transfer targets. It seems that each week we are linked with a new striker. Please, let us just wait until January and see what happens.
