Paul Pogba is a divisive player in the Transfer Tavern, and it’s fair to say that the Frenchman has a lot of hard work to do to be able to repay Man Utd for the huge investment they made in him when he moved from Juventus.
It’s not that he has been awful over the last few months, but given how good everybody knows how good he can be, he has certainly been underperforming in recent times.
Clearly, then, Jose Mourinho needs to do something in an effort to turn his game around, and it appears as though some fans think that dropping him might be the best course of action.
We recently ran a poll on the topic of whether the Frenchman should be dropped this weekend against Liverpool, and interestingly, one third (33%) of Man Utd fans responded suggesting that he should. Conversely, 67% responded saying that he should not be dropped.
Whilst not a majority, these results certainly suggest that the fanbase is divided on the topic of Pogba. Clearly, the Frenchman is a fan favourite, and everybody wants him to succeed, but clearly fans feel as though there are two ways of achieving that goal.
On his day he is an unstoppable passing, goalscoring and dribbling machine – but when he’s out of form, as he is now, he does next to nothing in the midfield.
Fortunately, the Man Utd faithful don’t have to make the decision this weekend, but it seems as though whatever Jose Mourinho decides, a section of Man Utd fans are going to be left disappointed.
