Liverpool are coming off the back of a very successful season. The Reds were tremendous last term, particularly towards the end of the campaign, and they deserved their Champions League final and top-four finish during the campaign's culmination.

However, that's now in the past, and Jurgen Klopp now must look ahead to the future, and the intimidating prospect of another season in the English top flight.

The Reds are going to find it tough to impress again in the Premier League, owing to the improvements that the teams around them have made. However, fortunately, Liverpool themselves have made a few major changes too, and their team will be looking very different this year in comparison to last season.

Key faces will, of course, remain the same, but progression is crucial - and Jurgen Klopp's best new Liverpool team is good enough to challenge anyone in the Premier League.

New signing Alisson is the first new face on this list. The Brazillian has settled into this squad seamlessly, delivering consistent performances in red so far. Admittedly, he hasn't been tested all that much yet, but so far so good.

In defence, Andy Robertson earned his spot in this team last season with his performances, and he undoubtedly should keep his place. On the other flank, the same can be said for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Despite being a youngster, he looks right at home in this squad. Virgil van Dijk transformed Liverpool last season, and his presence is needed here, whilst Joe Gomez has made a good start to the season and looks to be the perfect partner alongside the Dutchman.

In midfield, two new signings are present in both Naby Keita and Fabinho. Keita looks fantastic, and his energy and skill is just what Liverpool have lacked. Fabinho is yet to make much of an impact in the Premier League, but his defensive quality is clear for all to see, and it will only be a matter of time until Klopp gives him his chance. James Milner, surprisingly, looks to be the preferred candidate in the more advanced role. He's started the season brilliantly, and with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out of action, he looks like a good fit.

Going forward, it's the familiar trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane leading the way. Mane has been the star so far this season, but Firmino and Salah were unstoppable last season. They're only going to go from strength to strength as a trio.
