‘If he could pass a nightclub as well as he can pass a ball he would be alright‘.
Harry Redknapp’s frank assessment of Tottenham’s Mexican starlet, Giovani Dos Santos, would appear to make the boss’ attitude to his player quite clear.
Despite Dos Santos’ recent pleas to his manager to be given one more chance to impress at White Hart Lane, Harry is believed to be keen to offload the 21-year-old in order to free up squad space and funds for a few high-profile additions to his team.
Any offers are likely to come from Serie A, with a host of Italian clubs ready to bid for Dos Santos this month should Spurs give the go-ahead. Genoa are thought to be the front-runners for the player’s signature, after club President, Enrico Preziosi, confirmed his interest in a recent interview.
However, Fiorentina, Lazio, Sampdoria and Udinese are all rumoured to have joined the chase, and a potential bidding war could see Dos Santos’ price-tag of £4m increase considerably.
