Gareth Bale could be on his way to the Nou Camp this summer. This comes after it emerged Barcelona have scouted Tottenham’s Welsh winger no less than seven times this season, according to a report in The Mirror.
Bale, 22, was recently named in the UEFA team of the year, along with five members of Pep Guardiola’s team. The Welsh wizard has been outstanding this year for Tottenham, scoring nine goals and notching up seven assists as Tottenham challenge for the title.
This has not gone unnoticed by the European champions and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp may have a fight on his hands to keep his star player.
According to The Mirror’s report, the Blaugrana may be ready to test Tottenham’s resolve with a player plus cash deal worth in excess of a potential £40 million.
For the time being, Bale will be fully focussed on the task ahead at White Hart Lane, as Tottenham aim to win their first league title in over forty years.
Something to keep Spurs’ fans at ease, if Harry said no to £40 million for Modric, it’s pretty unlikely he’ll sell Bale for that amount isn’t it?
