French club Lille have placed a £43 million price tag on the head of highly rated Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard. The 20 year old has impressed for Lille this season, and has attracted the attention of a host of clubs throughout Europe – for a 20 year old midfielder who has scored 20 goals in 123 games, this is not surprising.
In the Premier League, it has been Chelsea and Arsenal who have been most impressed by the youngster, and have both made enquiries about the boy. Whilst the price tag will certainly deter the Gunners, their London rivals can easily afford what Lille are asking, and may look to Hazard as the player to kick start the latest revolution at the bridge.
The Sun report Lille president Seydoux as saying ‘no one is unsellable,’ and for the right price – 50 million euros in advance – Hazard would be allowed to leave. Lille are looking to build on winning their domestic title last season and a run in the Champion’s League this time round, and will sell Hazard to the highest bidder – Chelsea, Inter, City and Real all have the kind of money this will take.
In Hazard, there is a player who will only develop further, and after becoming the youngest player ever to win the UNFP league 1 player of the year award following a league and cup double the 5ft 8’ midfielders reputation is set to grow and grow – for the price Lille are asking, his suitors will hope that is the case!
